We had another great afternoon in the Belgian city of Ghent. Ghent's centre is dominated by the thick stone walls of the ancient Castle of the Counts. The city also has several beautiful churches, canals, and museums. Can you guess which one my 3 year old wanted to see?
The castle it was! Parts of it date back to the 1100s, it was built to protect the city from Viking raids. The castle came complete with a room dedicated to medieval torture devices.
Liam has me make up "Prince Liam" stories for him all the time, so this was a real thrill for him.
On a totally different note, we bought Liam his first bike! Hugh takes him to and from school on a bike every day (over 4 miles for Hugh), so he has been asking for one daily. Such a big guy!
