The same day that Hugh and I returned from our Tuscany trip, my mom's friends arrived for a two week visit. Mom had planned this trip out for months! This group of 4 covered more ground than most. They were all over Belgium and spent a few nights in Paris and Amsterdam. Beside the plane, they travelled by train, tram, boat, and the occasional cab.
They were great guests, even brought us lots of treats from home. And of course the kids loved all the attention. Brenna called them her friends (as in "Mommy where are my friends?") and Liam called them "the girls".

Just as we landed the same day "the girls" landed, we left just about the same time they did. We headed for NJ the day after they left. It had been six months since the whole family was home. The trip entailed my nephew's 16th birthday, Halloween, Brenna's birthday, a visit to our house for the first time in over a year, and of course work, family, and friends.

I was glad that we were able to see our house since the kids seemed to think that we would be living at Little mama's house when we returned! Brenna now calls it her "special house" because she really did not remember it at all. Liam ran around and showed us where we used to keep the ice pops in the garage (somethings are worth remembering for a 4 year old).

16 and 3! Eric did not feel the same need to dress up as a princess for his party :)

We were home for a very rare occurrence, it actually snowed right before Halloween. Big cousins Destin and Connor even built Brenna a birthday snowman!

The parties kept on coming. Pam and Mike held us a pre-halloween welcome home party. Look at all these kids! Fixing red eye on this crew was just too much.

The very much anticipated Trick or Treating! Taking a year off did not seem to cause my children any issues. Klancie, Jake, Brady, Liam, Brenna and Jack all had a great time. They had lots of treats and were pretty dirty from the snow, wet grass, and puddles they could not seem to avoid!
