Christmas in Antwerp

We had a white Christmas in Antwerp  It snowed almost every day for a solid week.  It was beautiful, except when it took me 3 hours to get to work.  I know that in NJ we complain that they do not plow quick enough, but they literally do not plow here.  Sidewalks are not shoveled, salt is not put down, etc.  I am told snow is rare here and that they just do not have the equipment. If you have followed my Blog, you know that I am always amazed by the safety difference between Europe and the US!  OK enough about the snow, on to the pretty pictures . . .

More Holiday Highlights

Liam's Christmas Show at DaVinci International School.  They sang Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer.  Liam belted it out, took a break, then belted it out again.

Christmas Party - we joined a group that is for English Speaking families.  We met so many nice people from all over the world.  This is the only picture that Liam ever took with the Santa.  Santa having a present for him seemed to make all the difference.  Or it could have been the courage from the blue tiger face paint, we will never know!

Our Christmas Tree -  There are some differences between Belgian and US Christmas traditions but the Christmas tree is a common one. The trees were just a bit smaller, at least in the city,  and came potted with the roots in tact.  We made most of the decorations since we did not ship any.  Look how involved Liam & Brenna are :).  You can also see that we watch a very tiny TV.  It was small enough that we could use it even though is a US TV (whole voltage thing); too cheap and/or lazy to buy a new one here that will not work in the US.
